Industry Track

  The Industry Track is a showcase of industrial contributions to the NLP world, especially in relation to Portuguese/Galician.

This showcase aims to connect the NLP Industry world not only with the research world, but also with other companies that will be able to see in situ how NLP tools can improve their business processes.

There are two ways to participate in this Industry Track:

  • By submitting demo papers in this Call (https://propor2024.citius.gal/index.php/call-for-demonstrations/) 
  • By showing NLP demos from companies that will have access to a table in the Congress facilities where they will be able to show their use cases or demos that may be of interest to other companies or the PROPOR2024 community.

Finally, it is important to highlight that the organisation of PROPOR2024 will contact Iberian and Brazilian companies that are not related to NLP, but that may nevertheless be interested in learning about the solutions that the NLP Industry offers for their challenges.

Important dates:

  • Demos Submission: January 10 2024
  • Notification of acceptance or rejection: February 21 2024
  • Camera-ready demo paper: February 28 2024
  • Conference: March 14 and 15 2024

Panel discussion (in Portuguese/Galician):

On 14th March, between 2.30pm and 4pm, there will be a panel discussion on this topic: “Challenges and opportunities for the Portuguese/Galician-speaking language industry in the age of LLMs” with the participation of:

  • Senén Barro Ameneiro, director of CITIUS and one of the leaders of Proxecto Nós 
  • Livy Real, Data Science Manager, Quinto Andar (Brazil).
  • Diego Vázquez, CEO of imaxin|software, NLP company (Galiza).
  • Carlos Amaral, CEO of Priberam, NLP company (Portugal).
  • Paulo Cavalin, IBM Research  (Brazil)
  • José Ramom Pichel, Postdoctoral researcher in the Nós Project (moderator).
